In 1919, the Green Bay Packers was born when the Indian Packing Company decided to sponsor a local professional football team. Two years later, the Green Bay Packers became a member of the NFL, ranking as the third oldest NFL team to date. It remains the only existing “small town team” in the NFL, which were once common in the 1920s to 1930s.

The Green Bay Packers are one of the best teams that ever graced the NFL history. The Packers have won 12 league championships (ranking #1 in the most wins on NFL), 9 NFL championships and 3 Super Bowl titles – 1967, 1968 and 1997. The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears are intense rivals, playing against each other in more than 170 games, making their games a must-see for all football fans.

Since 1992, the Packers experienced a 13-year non-losing period, an all-time high for the team, but suffered a loss in the 2005 season. The Green Bay Packers immediately returned to a good 8-8 record in 2006 and ended the 2007 season with a 13-3 record.

This season, superstar quarterback and three-time AP MVP Brett Favre, who led the Green Bay Packers to two Super Bowls, will not be playing due to ankle injuries.
